Discipline: Brand Identity · Campaign · Digital Design

The Challenge
FJCUDC was founded in 1996 by our client First Presbyterian Church in Jamaica (FPCJ) to extend the church's vision beyond its walls — bringing affordable housing and supportive programming to the Jamaica, Queens community. The non-profit does the on-the-ground work of empowering neighbors toward improved, healthier lives: food pantries, wellness classes, fresh-food programs, educational training, and social support delivered through its own services and a deep network of partners. It's also the arm behind the Tree of Life, another community initiative of FPCJ. What FJCUDC needed was a brand and digital presence that could hold all of that work together — and communicate its mission with the dignity it's built on.

Our Approach
Because we already understood the FPCJ family of brands intimately — from the church itself to the Tree of Life development — we were positioned to give FJCUDC an identity that felt connected yet distinct. We developed a full brand and website designed around the organization's core belief: the self-respect, dignity, and worth of every human being. The site brings order to a wide range of programs, making it easy for residents to find services, for partners to get involved, and for donors to give — while campaign and digital design carry the mission consistently across every channel.

The Result
FJCUDC now has a cohesive brand and digital home worthy of nearly three decades of community work — one that unifies its housing, health, and social programs under a single, dignified identity. From the website to the campaigns, the work helps the organization welcome new residents, attract partners like Cornell Medicine and the Community Healthcare Network, and rally donors around its mission — extending FPCJ's vision of a better Jamaica, Queens, built with dignity, resiliency, and self-sufficiency.
