Since 2016, Paper Plus Rocket has been a creative collective built on a simple belief: the best work comes from a room full of different perspectives, not one. We brought together a diverse group of industry professionals — strategists, designers, writers, and producers — who share a commitment to leading with culture, and gave them a place to do work that reflects where they actually come from.
The STUDIO
Ten-plus years in, the collective is the studio.
We don't staff projects with whoever's free — we build each team around the perspective a brand actually needs, drawing from a network of like-minded professionals across disciplines and backgrounds. That range is why our work doesn't default to one look, one voice, or one idea of what's “on trend.” It's also why founders from wildly different communities and categories keep finding something specific to them in what we make.

Calvin
Co-Founder & Creative Director
Calvin is an award-winning Creative Director with over two decades of experience delivering high-impact campaigns for globally recognized brands at the world's largest advertising agencies. Backed by a strong graphic design and production foundation, he worked on award-winning campaigns for Cigna, Nikon, American Airlines, and the U.S. Army while at McCann NY. He spent seven years at Dentsu-McGarryBowen on Verizon Wireless, Chase, Reebok, and Burger King, and as a freelancer worked with brands including Jameson, Vanguard, Allstate, JBL, Eli Lilly, Bristol Myers Squibb, Centrum, Earth's Best, and awareness campaigns for COVID-19.
Alongside freelancing, Calvin set out to bring everything he learned in corporate advertising back to his community. In 2016 he founded two companies: Crown Jewel Beverage, a Caribbean-inspired beverage company, and Paper Plus Rocket, a graphic design studio. At its height, Crown Jewel could be found on the shelves of 16 supermarkets and Amazon Fresh. Paper Plus Rocket has led creative for brands such as Disney's Onyx Collective, Free Form, Blum Consulting Partners, CDPL, and Miss Jessie's, to name a few. More recently, Calvin led award-winning creative for Invesco QQQ at Episode Four, and helmed campaigns for Schwab and Goldman Sachs.
Guyanese born, Calvin has loved art and creativity for as long as he can remember — a passion that now anchors Paper Plus Rocket's culture-first approach. He is an honorably discharged Navy veteran who served as an electrician aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Ashland from 1996 to 2000, including special operations in Kuwait and the Gulf region in 1998. He holds a B.A. in Graphic Design from Pratt Institute.

Geronna
Co-Founder & Art Director
Geronna has stepped down from her role at Paper Plus Rocket, but her mark on the studio is indelible. She was instrumental in shaping our mission and values, driven by a deep dedication to community building and a gift for taking ideas further than anyone expected. Her commitment to craft and her keen eye for design and storytelling elevated our work — and that influence still shows in everything we make.

Felton
Creative Director
A cultural architect working where brands, artists, and communities meet. Felton helped build Dreamville from an independent label into a global cultural platform, and brings award-winning brand experience from Taylor, McCann, and mcgarrybowen across Crown Royal, Smirnoff, Chase, and Puma. He chairs The BKLYN Combine, investing in mentorship and community as core to the work.

Wema
Grant Sourcing & Writing Consultant
A director, performer, and educator working at the intersection of art and community for over 20 years. Wéma's work spans theater, teaching-artist development, and cultural curation — including smallgirl rising: Connecting the Divine Black Feminine — all rooted in youth justice, disability justice, and building spaces where people of all ages and abilities thrive. At Paper Plus Rocket, she leads grant sourcing & writing and heads our arts programming.
Yehloi
Lead Graphic Designer
Yehloi leads design at Paper Plus Rocket, turning strategy into identity systems that feel as intentional as they look. With over 5 years shaping brands, she brings a sharp fine art aesthetic and a love of typography to every project. Her work reflects our culture-first approach — design rooted in real perspective, not templates.
