Discipline: Brand Identity + Web Design

Atlantic Center for Capital Representation is a Philadelphia based non-profit legal consultancy striving to abolish capital punishment in Pennsylvania. We worked on revising the visual identity for ACCR as a pro-bono project for the firm. We also partnered with a group of Graphic Design students at Hostos Community College located in The Bronx New York. This would be a real world project for the students and an opportunity for them to work with an established company and client.

The students were first tasked with researching the organization and industry to understand the clients competitive landscape and positioning. We also held workshops with the client to better understand their mission and how they best impact their clients. Our students then got to work in the discovery phase of the project where they created visual styles-capes based on discussions with the clients on their audience, brand personality or adjectives and visual inspirations for the direction of the brand. We then presented 3 distinctly different style-scapes to the client where they eventually settled on one visual look and feel.

In the final execution, the client settled on an identity inspired by the Philadelphia LOVE statue installation for their brand direction. It captured the essence of where the organization started and the passion of LOVE that they embodies in it’s core mission.
