VCPLUS (Documentary film & Non Profit)

Industry: Film Documentary
Discipline: Directing  |  Film Production  |  Writing  |  Art Direction

This short film was made to explain the very unique partnership between the NY charity VCPLUS and a South African soccer charity. VCPLUS contacted Dreamfields and wanted to create a partnership that fused their artistic background with the athletic and educational goals of Dreamfields. They needed a film that explained to donors and potential artist for the project what this looked like.

In order to combine these very different charities together we had to show the project in a very instructional but engaging way. We had to go to the very rural communities and embed ourselves with the people participating. We needed to learn about the people and what this program would ultimately mean for its society.

The video became key in fundraising for the project raising enough money to buy full soccer uniforms, supplies and equipment for 13 schools. It was also used to raise the profile of the program and attract very high-end artist participation. It is now a teaching tool to explain to other charities or donors what extraordinary programs can be created by engaging different perspectives.

This program has now been repeated numerous times and has impacted 43 middle schools in rural South Africa.
